Our Artist Trading Card Group has been active, on-going, almost non-stop since 2003, meeting once a month through the Lyons Library sponsorship. The first ATC trading session was initiated by Merlyn Williams, the Librarian at the time, who named our group "ART-4-ART." At Merlyn's invitation, I started attending the Trading Sessions in December of 2004, and have been part of this ATC group ever since. Sporadically, intermittently, I have posted about our ATC Playshops on a blog under the mail art names: "Damaris O'Trand" and "Damaris O'Doodle" a.k.a. "The Gutter Artist" here: https://atcplayshop.blogspot.com/ For the last several months, I have taken my art off-line, as I publish and mail hard copies of a Zine called "The Steamboat Valley Muse."

After the Great Front Range Flood of September 12, 2013, our town was almost wiped off the map. Our library lost many of its books due to flood damage. Throughout the flood recovery, our group met in various locations, sometimes at book stores and sometimes outdoors while the Town of Lyons struggled to repair its damaged infrastructure and housing. Our new library finally opened in September 2019 after moving around to various temporary locations. And then, in March 2020, the world-wide pandemic, Covid-19. There were a few missed meetings, but then we wore masks and met outdoors, sometimes at the Lyons Memorial Labyrinth, sometimes at The Barking Dog (our local coffee shop) among other places. We even met several times outside on the library patio during the winter, looking in the window longingly at our brand new, unused library. It has been quite a ride.
